an image Eric grew up in Dallas, Texas and had a very competitive sports background. Swimming was his first sport but tennis became his focus around age 11. He competed in tournaments regularly and eventually achieved a best USTA ranking of #7 in Texas in boys 18 and under singles. As a four-year varsity tennis player at Highland Park High School, Eric was a two time state runner up in doubles and the 4A state singles champion in 2006. He earned All-American status in 2006. Following several years of division I tennis at Furman and TCU, Eric became interested in triathlon as a hobby after doing research in the TCU exercise physiology lab in 2009. Since the summer of 2009, he has done over 10 sprint and Olympic distance triathlons with numerous age group wins. In 2012, Eric hopes to improve his triathlon performance and become a better athlete by getting more consistent with training.

Eric currently works as a research assistant at the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine in Dallas, Texas. With an undergraduate background in exercise science and current interests in health, nutrition and biomechanics, Eric plans to go to chiropractic school in the future.
