an image A Dallasite for more than 40 years, Scott has run and biked on almost every inch of Dallas and Collin Counties.

Growing up with a team sports background, Scott became focused on running after an accomplished collegiate baseball and basketball career as an Austin College Kangaroo.

After over-training and running his first marathon in 1981, Scott suffered a stress fracture that led him to pursue cycling and swimming. Eventually, under the mentorship of Olympian and Pro Triathlete Marc Thompson he learned to swim and returned to running and went on to participate in his first multi-sport event, the Waco triathlon in 1982.

In 1984 Scott became one of the first Texans to qualify for and complete the prestigious Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon. From 1982 to 1995 Scott completed 17 marathons, 3 Ironmans and more than 150 triathlon races on several continents including close encounters with many of the early legends of the sport like Dave Scott, Scott Molina, Mark Allen, Scott Tinley and a teenage Lance Armstrong .

While consistently racing at the Olympic distance, Scott qualified for 8 consecutive age group National Championships. Scott has run six sub 3 hour marathons including The Boston Marathon and a 2:47 PR at The Houston Marathon. His best 10k was 34:20, and his top Olympic Tri finish was a 2:09 at Hilton Head.

In 1995, Scott was diagnosed with a heart arrhythmia and shut things down for 6 years. Three ablation surgeries later the arrhythmia was stopped. After “just swimming a little” for years, Scott was moved to once again start training for triathlons and has been active in the sport since 2007. In 2012 Scott plans on racing a handful of sprints and few Olympics and maybe even a 70.3!

Scott serves as Team Cambridge’s founder and General Manager. He is a graduate of Austin College, for the past 25 years Scott has been a private coach/personal trainer and multi-sport event producer who is always on the leading edge of technology, performance and safety.
