an image Steve is originally from Minnetonka, Minnesota, but has been a practicing Urologist in Durant, Oklahoma for the last 14 years. He attended both the Universities of Oregon and Minnesota where he finished his medical degree and residency.

He is married with four children the youngest of which is a senior in high school and all have competed with their father in at least one running or triathlon event. While he has been a road and trail distance runner for many years, he is new to triathlon. This year was a new decade for Steve and he celebrated by running his first ultramarathon, completing the Cross Timbers trail marathon, and buying his first Harley. In addition, he decided to cross train and ended up finishing five sprint and two Olympic triathlons, the Prairieman AquaBike and then completed the Austin 70.3 Ironman. With Coach Scott Eder’s help, he achieved and exceeded all of his triathlon goals for the year without a single injury.

His goals for 2012 are to improve the swim to a competitive age group pace and do the Twin Cities triathlon with his children in July. When not training or racing Steve is a private pilot, manages his ranch and cheers for his wife who is a professional barrel racer.
